Leer Mining Complex, Leer Mine, Grafton, West Virginia

In 2015, DA Smith^* completed two CSIRO HI Cell in situ stress measurements and installed six CSIRO HI Cells for long-term monitoring for the US National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) on the #2 Panel ahead of the longwall retreat at Arch Coal's Leer Mining Complex. Two separate 50‑foot roof and floor NQ2-diameter core holes were also drilled.
