DA Smith returned to start Phase 2 in-gallery drilling at Denver Water's Gross Reservoir Dam located near Boulder, Colorado, as part of the $464 million Gross Reservoir Expansion (dam raise) project being constructed by Kiewit-Barnard. DA Smith completed a Phase 1 drilling and instrumentation campaign at the dam in 2025. Phase 2 involves core drilling and completing multiple vertical and angled water monitoring wells inside the dam's existing and newly constructed galleries. Wells are being completed with screened intervals to Colorado Division of Water Resources standards and include vibrating wire piezometers for long-term pressure monitoring.
Work is underway in 2026.
