In February 2024, DA Smith completed a 1,042-foot H-sized horizontal exploration core hole at the historic Nelson Tunnel in Creede, Colorado, as part of a detailed geotechnical evaluation of rock mass conditions conducted by engineering expert HDR, Inc. DA Smith drilled through the winter from a special constructed pad and platform at the tunnel portal using DA Smith's Boart Longyear LM90 diamond core drill.
